Benjamin Prinsen, Vice President of Future Design, a Gloucester Engineering Company, recently attended the SPI 2013 Equipment & Moldmakers Summit-Leading Through a Climate of Change located in Miami, FL. This leadership summit brought together C-level executives, key policymakers and business experts to address today’s pivotal issues impacting the bottom line of plastics suppliers in a rapidly changing business climate including: Healthcare Reform, Workforce Development, Tax Reform, Energy Savings, OSHA Regulation & Immigration Law, with keynote 2012 Presidential Candidate, Senator Rick Santorum.
“The conference was well attended by industry peers with important topics such as health care reform, R&D tax credits, energy management and health and safety issues,” said Benjamin. “These conferences play an important role in understanding the current business climate and how as suppliers we need to be proactive to better support our customers. We also participate in the SPI extrusion statistics committee – that provides aggregate sales data to allow suppliers to understand the health of the their particular segment in the industry from month to month.”
