Welcome Back, Simon!

Gloucester Engineering Co. (GEC) is pleased to announce that Simon Jay has joined the company as Sales Director EAME.  Simon’s vast experience in the plastics extrusion industry will strengthen GEC’s commitment and pledge to fully support its customers and the installed base in the EMEA region.  Simon will be based in the UK and will report to Carl Johnson, President of GEC.

In addition to having over two decades of experience managing sales in the capital equipment industry, Simon has run his own privately held companies.    Simon is a hands-on professional who went through the typical 4 year Electrical & Mechanical apprenticeship in just 3 years with Plysu PLC in the UK.  With over 22 years of experience managing projects and the sales process in the extrusion industry, he is extremely well qualified to assist GEC’s customers with their processing and equipment needs.

Simon joins GEC from Davis Standard Er-We-Pa, where he worked for more than three years.  Prior to being a Sales Manager for Er-We-Pa, Simon held sales and technical positions with Reifenhauser and Battenfeld Gloenco.

Mark Steele, CEO of GEC, stated, “We are thrilled that someone of Simon’s caliber has decided to re-join the Gloucester Engineering team.  He believes in our reemergence as a leader in the plastics extrusion equipment industry.  Simon will continue to methodically develop our sales and service presence in the EAME region and help address our customers’ needs.”

“Gloucester Engineering has always had an enviable reputation for promoting the entrepreneurial spirit within its employees and helping them to build lasting mutually beneficial relationships with their customers,” said Jay.  “Blue Wolf demonstrated a vision of how they will help GEC again become a market leader in the plastics extrusion industry and I’m excited to once again be part of the Gloucester Engineering team and helping our customers meet and exceed their aspirations.”
